How I got in
I got to know Axel's CEO, Iro, at a fireside chat at DataFest (the biggest AI and technology event in Georgia), where Iro was speaking. After a great conversation with Iro there, I decided to apply for an internship at Axel.
What I did
At the beginning, while I was an intern, I was doing everything from marketing to reporting. From there I found the startup selection, screening process and communicating with our angel investors the most interesting part, so when I joined Axel part-time, I took over the startup pipeline and investor relations.
The hard part
The hard part was the amount of work it took to go from an average intern to a manager and a peer.
What I learned
At Axel, I learned how angel investors look at startups, how they evaluate them and how they invest in them, through hours-long conversations with tens of angel investors.
Results
As of now, through my contributions, we have renewed and optimised the startup pipeline, adopted AI into daily operations, and established new connections with international investors and other angel networks.
